If Three Mountain Family Hikes Cancels

Three Mountain Family Hikes Inc., operating as Three Mountain Family Hikes®, reserves the right to cancel or re-schedule any outing or event at any time without notice where circumstances beyond our control may impede or prevent our proceeding with an outing or event, or require or make it prudent for us to cancel or reschedule. Three Mountain Family Hikes® is a registered trademark, all rights reserved. 

Reasons for cancellation or rescheduling may include, but are not limited to the following: weather, safety hazards of any kind, wildlife activity, fire (including fire alerts, fire bans, smoky conditions, etc.), park and trail closures, government restrictions, natural disasters, actions or failures to act by third parties beyond our control, illness, pandemics, shortage of supplies, low registrations for the outing, or other circumstances beyond our control.  However, we will attempt to give as much advance notice of any cancellation or rescheduling as possible to our customers.

If Three Mountain Family Hikes cancels a trip due to reasons stated above or for any unforeseen incident, a full refund will apply. Additionally, some activities and hikes may have their locations changed without notice due to the weather, safety hazards, wildlife activity, fire alerts, fire bans, park and trail closures, and similar matters. Participants will be informed as soon as possible when we become aware of a change in location, generally at the very latest at the meeting place before we proceed onto the trail or engaging in the activity.  If the program needs to be re-scheduled, we will do our best to book registrants to another program on another date. If we are unable to reschedule, a full refund will apply.

If You Need To Cancel

Please email me at Lynda@threemountainfamilyhikes.ca to advise me of your cancellation, and provide the date and program you were attending. 

The following cancellation policies apply:.

Bookings cancelled with more than two days notice before the date of the program(s) will be refunded, less a $10.00 administration fee.

Bookings cancelled with less than 48 hours (2 days) before the day of the program(s) will not be refunded and will be charged the full rate.

No Refund for a No Call/No Show on the date of the program(s)

Full refund or option to reschedule if Three Mountain Hikes® needs to cancel for circumstances beyond our control, up to and including the day of the trip. 

Exceptions – We completely understand that some things are beyond our control, such as unexpected road closures, car problems and sudden changes in mountain weather.  In addition, as a parent, I have said goodnight to a healthy child, only to be woken up at 3:00 a.m. by a sick child.  Please email me directly to discuss these types of situations so we can determine a mutually agreeable solution. 

Cancellation and Refund Policy Continued

Right To Decline Any Participant

Three Mountain Family Hikes reserves the right to decline any participant, at any time, as a member on any trip. An example, but not limited to, is inappropriate gear for the activity, e.g. open-toe sandals for a hiking program.

Medical Disclosure

As a participant, it is essential to provide full disclosure on the medical information form so Three Mountain Family Hikes can be appropriately prepared for an emergency should one occur, or to deal with medical circumstances such as illness, disease, pandemic, etc. Failing to disclose all medical/ health information may result, in the sole discretion of Three Mountain Family Hikes, in the cancellation of enrollment in the registered program in question, and a refund will not be provided. 

No Pet Policy, Other than Service Animals

I love dogs, I have one, but she needs to stay at home, as will your dog or any other pets.  Our insurance does not cover hiking with dogs. Certified service dogs/other certified service animals are an exception.  If you arrive with a family pet and cannot make arrangements to have it remain behind, Three Mountain Family Hikes will automatically cancel your participation in the event, and no refund will be provided. 

Non-Medicinal Drug, Alcohol and Smoking Policy 

Three Mountain Family Hikes will not tolerate the use of non-medicinal drugs, alcohol, or smoking during an event hosted by us and reserves the right to ban the participant(s), with no refund provided. In addition, we reserve the right to contact the appropriate authorities to deal with situations involving illegal substances or unlawful conduct.

Sickness Policy

Three Mountain Family Hikes requires compliance by all its customers and participants with all applicable government directives related to public health. In addition to COVID, winter brings influenza and other cold viruses. Please stay home if you feel sick, have a cough, fever, sore throat, or have tested positive for Covid. Arriving sick may result in the termination of your participation in any event or outing, with no refund payable.
