Yoho Lake & Takakkaw Falls

Yoho National Park

About the Hike:

You will require a vehicle to meet me at these trailheads.

Yoho Lake is a high alpine gem in Yoho National Park, offering stunning views of the Yoho Valley, Takakkaw Falls, and a distant glimpse of the Daly Glacier. Starting near Takakkaw Falls, the second-highest falls in Canada, this hike promises breathtaking scenery and a memorable adventure.

We’ll start our journey from the Takakkaw Falls parking lot, where you will be awed by the sheer force and beauty of Canada’s second-highest waterfall.

The jaw-dropping falls stand at an impressive 373 meters. It’s a sight to behold, and we even get the chance to get up close and personal on this guided hike.

After capturing some stunning photos of Takakkaw Falls, we’ll continue our adventure at the Yoho Lake Trailhead, situated near the Whiskey Jack Hostel. The initial part of the hike involves a steady climb, where we’ll take frequent breaks to rest and enjoy the panoramic views as we ascend.

We’ll have lunch at Yoho Lake, the historic site of the Alpine Club of Canada’s first mountaineering camp.

On our way back, we’ll hike a short 1.2 km section of the Iceline Trail, connect with the Yoho Trail, and return to the parking lot.
